BRUJAS bring on their fifth Anti Prom Season with a party at the Civic Center on June 22nd ! Outside !

Skate gang “BRUJAS” joins art heroes Le Vanguard in the name of DIY cultural power, this time in the queer heart of downtown San Francisco at the newly renovated UN SkatePlaza.

This marks the fifth annual celebration of ANTI PROM, notoriously dedicated to women and queer skaters, rap heads, club aficionados, and anybody who was ever kicked out of anything. With a history of venue experimentation and carefully curated co-hosts and artists ( hosted by Princess Nokia in 2016, Gypsy Sport in 2017 headlined by Yaeji and Cardi B, RedBull Music Festival in 2018 headlined by Young MA, and in 2019 with Maliibu Miitch ) Anti Prom continues a promising celebration of queer art and life !

BRUJAS Launched BRUJAS WORLD SYNDICATE (BWS) in 2020 as an official membership program, harnessing the international reach of their work. BRUJAS founded in NYC in 2014 but have been organizing in The Bay since 2016 ! BRUJAS have produced their clothing with care in The Bay for the last decade ! BWS is an international collective of skaters, artists and cultural producers, united by a common goal of promoting social wellness. BWS seeks to provide a space for members to organize, converse, and take action towards healing, housing, healthcare, wages, unity, and livelihood. Anti Prom will be BRUJAS World Bay Area’s fifth large event in The Bay Area. After activating a vacant gallery for their Wages For Housework Presentation with the Vacant 2 Vibrant grant program, Anti-Prom follows with the same spirit, promising public access to live music and fashion. This year's theme will interrogate place and poverty in America, as well as the declining materialistic retail model. BRUJAS demonstrates what working towards a purpose much larger than fashion, in the interest of peace and our collective future can look like for skateboarders.

Le Vanguard is an arts & music collective that supports diy (q) p.o.c artists and musicians in their creative endeavors. Established in 2015 in Oakland CA, the 40 member collective now spans across 7 cities across the US including SF Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, New Orleans, Austin, and Boston. Le Vanguard is known for producing live music concerts, art shows, fairs, festivals, and events for the greater community.
